The Oomph! Factor is that why adults,teenagers even tiny tots are crazy about Brands ?For me its all about the comfort ,affordability ,durability and a wee bit to seek attention.BAGGIT with its functionality and spunk  fits the bill for  the  ambitious yet  stylish urban indian women,who tries to  fit her life in to a handbag. Started with a meager amount of Rs 7000 by a part time diploma holder Nina Lekhi at the tender age of 19 in 1990!Today it is  ranked the highest selling brand   with largest market share in women’s handbags category with an annual turnover of Rs 18 crore.It is fascinating how  passion  obviates the need for  formal education.The first retail store was started INXS,Mumbai .An another interesting tidbit about BAGGIT is that they won the PETA award ‘Beauty without cruelty’ for their creative design made up of non –leather products .The transition from an in-house project to a reputed brand  was due to the supply chain management strategy followed by Baggit- everything from printing and weaving to manufacturing and labeling  was done by them. This helped them   keep tabs on manufacturing delays, quality control, and research and development. Now besides bags, the company also retails wallets, belts, mobile pouches, caps and scarves (with prices ranging from Rs 225 to Rs 2,500) catering to all sections of women.The only problem I have with BAGGIT is their website,which has no options to view their entire catalogue nor order online.The website lacks the balance of style with usability unlike their wallets.
